The First Knock

Pickup Bay is officially history. I filed the certificate of cancellation online this morning — $620 on my card, which stung less because a close friend covered $500 of it — and Delaware said they'd mail the stamped copy. Two years of a company that never did a single thing, ended before lunch. I'll take the weekend's gravestone metaphor back: this was the paperwork to match.

Then the strange part. A biochar company backed by a famous accelerator found me on LinkedIn. They want palm kernel shells — for a business I haven't built yet, on land I don't have, for a venture that is currently a Google Doc and a dream. Ardena isn't operational. They knocked anyway. The restless part of my brain filed that under 'inevitable.'

The day kept moving. I signed the agreement on two spec homes — earnest money down — and pointed my new domain at this very page, so the front door of the newspaper is finally the right address. One day, one dispatch: bury, knock, build, open. That's the whole sermon.
