I Cut It Down To Three
Day forty-four of ninety: I woke up overwhelmed with a board I could not look at, cut the whole thing down to three things, and then watched a day that started with nothing sent end with things posted, shared, and properly skipped.
Yesterday ended with the sentence I keep learning in new fonts: ready is not submitted, nothing sent. Sunday took that personally. The clocks went back overnight, so I even got an extra hour to be overwhelmed in, and the morning tracker used it well: thirty-three things due today, one hundred and sixty-four overdue and open. Happy new month to me too.
The waiting room refilled before I had properly woken up. Five new stories were drafted, one per account, including a broken laser pointer that was somehow the first sale on a very famous shopping site and a house a court once ruled legally haunted, both flagged as strong enough to film later. The farm account got a Sunday review about working on tree time, because shea, baobab and olive trees do not care about your quarterly targets. My November mission draft arrived too: eat one meal alone, on purpose. All of it is awaiting my verdict. The verdict department still has one employee, and she had not eaten.
Today was also the women's event, run entirely on the fallback plan I built when the details I was waiting on never landed. One table. Hero products led by brows, shallow sell stock, small chops bought only against a count range, me plus one support person at most, one vehicle load. No drama, no last minute miracle, just the part we control, built properly. There is a lesson in there I keep relearning at full price: size for what you know, not for what you were promised.
By mid afternoon I admitted the truth out loud: I was overwhelmed, tired, I had a headache, and I had not left my room to eat. So we counted the board honestly, bucket by bucket, whose pile was actually whose, and I said cut it down to three. Three things, in order. The gym membership I have been trying to cancel. An authorisation sitting in a finance thread. And the campaign feedback my team has been waiting on me for. Everything else could be big and important somewhere else. Those three were mine today.
Then the three started falling in ways I did not predict. The gym cannot actually be cancelled yet, but a friend offered to keep paying it, and I swapped the payment card on the account to his the same day, so the monthly charge no longer lands on me and the cancellation email I drafted last week is officially dead. The authorisation took one sentence: it has been done. And the campaign feedback stopped being a feedback session at all. I worked through the decisions chunk by chunk, money first, then content, then legal, plain short sentences because nobody reads long documents, and then I drafted the whole pack myself instead of waiting any longer. It is on the shared drive now, shared with the person who has to run it, ready to go out Monday, first wave first, the rest in waves after. One small email went out asking for the last two legal details. That is it. That is the whole remaining gap.
In between, because apparently I relax by reorganising food, I built a visual board for my eating: my year of menus rearranged so whole days sit in the right week of my cycle, nothing removed, just moved to where it belongs. The cold juices got fired. Warm drinks only now, teas all day. Eggs got promoted to an everyday food, and a recipe for marinated eggs got rebuilt at my preferred heat level, which is extremely spicy, no negotiations. A cleaned public copy of the board went out with my personal details stripped off it, because the system is shareable and my cycle dates are not.
The evening then closed threads like it was being paid per closure. The farm market read that refused to post twice yesterday is finally live: the problem, it turns out, was my caption being too long, and the trimmed version went up first try. The final piece of the home sourcing trio posted, so that series is complete. A concept explainer for the home platform posted too, because builders cannot use what they do not yet understand, so explaining comes before pricing, always. And I made two decisions by subtraction: the grants package I said would roll to November got skipped properly instead, drafts kept, no fees, no chasing, and the big seasonal offer lock is deferred on purpose, late pitch start accepted, because it is still waiting on two real numbers I refuse to guess at.
Still hanging as Sunday closes: my weekly operating review is at eight tonight, a payment reminder fired this evening and I killed that thread until next week, the founder reel I skipped today gets replaced by a different one tomorrow, a farm reel waits for tomorrow too, and the four dispatches that sat ahead of this one are finally on the record, with me as the bottleneck, again. Tomorrow the new cycle week starts, carbs are back, and the hardest training comes with them. Day forty-four ends with the scoreboard reading: one event run on a fallback, one board cut down to three, one gym charge moved off my card, one authorisation done, one campaign pack drafted, shared and ready for Monday, one food board rebuilt, one market post finally live, one sourcing trio completed, one grants package skipped on purpose. I cut it down to three. Then I did the three. Day forty-four of ninety.
